M. Geddes Gengras has contributed in many projects, explored various genres and instruments in his music career. However, when it comes to making solo music, his main instruments are the Moog synthesizer and modular synths. Unlike “Test Leads” (his first solo album), which has a strong reference to beats and rhythm, “Collected Works Vol 1” presents a sound much closer to ambient music, with melodic sequences filled with breeze and colorful atmospheres, all immersed on an intimate vibe. Gedras redraws the free forms of ambient and kosmiche music of the 70’s explored by people like Klaus Schulze, Conrad Schnitzler and Roedelius. The songs of “Collected Works Vol 1” were recorded directly on fourtrack. Some were previously released on a limited cassette edition, but this is the first time that these recordings are available on vinyl. They have been remastered for the occasion by Gengras at Green Machines in Los Angeles.

M. Geddes Gengras has been part of Sun Araw, Robedoor, LA Vampires and Pocahaunted (Not Not Fun). He also has worked on his own project, Personable. And the acclaimed record “Icon Give Thank” FRKWYS Vol. 9 (RVNG Intl) with The Congos and Sun Araw.
